TOKYO: Japan’s largest paper companies are offering innovative and sustainable alternatives to plastic pollution products that are generally not particularly environmentally friendly.
In this regard, a subsidiary of Nippon Paper Industries has developed a waterproof card board box as an alternative to polystyrene containers.
A spokesman for Nippon Paper Industries said the waterproof card board box could hold water for up to three weeks without leaking, and that food processing companies were already using it to deliver fish. ۔
Nippon Tokai Industries Paper Supply, a subsidiary, says it is already seeing opportunities in broader developments for sustainable products and intends to do its best to take advantage of these societal trends.
Meanwhile, Daewoo Paper Corporation is also looking at making homemade plastic hooks and hangers out of stronger paper.
