KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) has rejected the bail plea of Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani in another case after assets were seized.
According to details, the Sindh High Court heard the bail plea of Sindh Assembly Speaker Aghasraj Durrani in a corruption case in the construction of MPA hostel.
Agha Siraj and his lawyer Shehab Sarki did not appear in the court. Shaukat Hayat Advocate said that Shehab Sarki Advocate is busy in the election and he will reach the court soon.
The NAB prosecutor said that the investigating officer was present in the court and the accused should have appeared before him.
The counsel said that the bail application was rejected by the Sindh High Court yesterday. Agha Siraj has to approach the Supreme Court against the decision. Today’s hearing should be adjourned.
Justice Muhammad Iqbal Kalhoro said, “We rejected the bail application. How can we adjourn the case today? The accused did not appear. We reject the bail application. If there was any legal relief, we would have given it.”
The court canceled the interim bail of Sindh Assembly Speaker Agha Siraj Durrani for withdrawing the petition on behalf of the assistant counsel. ۔
