KARACHI: The Anti-Human Trafficking Cell (FIA) has arrested the Deputy Director NADRA in a fake identity card scandal while raids are underway to arrest the Assistant Director NADRA.
According to details, the FIA Anti-Human Trafficking Cell has registered a case against Deputy Director Nadra Guru Shankar and Assistant Director Nadra Yasir Zeb in the fake identity card scandal.
Karachi: After the registration of the case, Deputy Director NADRA Guru Shankar has been arrested while raids are underway to arrest Assistant Director NADRA Sarzeb.
Officials say that Yasir Zeb demanded Rs 1 million bribe to save the accused deputy director and received Rs 6.5 million in cash and Rs 2.5 million in the account.
According to the Federal Investigation Agency, six cases have been registered so far in the fake identity card scandal. The number of accused arrested in the fake identity card scandal is 18, including top officials of NADRA and foreign nationals and agents.
It is believed that in the investigation of the case of issuing fake identity card to an Iranian citizen, major mistakes of NADRA officers were caught.
