Massive exchanges in ECP before revision of electoral rolls

KARACHI: A large number of transfers, appointments and promotions have been made in the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) before the revision of electoral rolls across the country.

According to ARY News, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued a notification regarding appointments, transfers and promotions of officers.

According to the notification, Sindh Provincial Election Commissioner Ijaz Chauhan has been removed from his post and sent to Islamabad. Saeed Gul has been appointed Provincial Election Commissioner in Sindh in his place.

Saeed Gul was earlier serving as the Joint Provincial Election Commissioner of Punjab, who has been promoted to 21st grade and posted in Sindh.

Similarly, Regional Election Commissioner Thatta Ali Asghar Sial has been promoted to Grade 20 and Joint Election Commissioner Sindh, Regional Election Commissioner Hyderabad Sai Bakhsh Chandar has also been promoted to Grade 20.

Regional Election Commissioner Sukkur Muhammad Shahid was transferred to Bahawalpur while Balochistan Election Commissioner Muhammad Raziq was also transferred.

It may be recalled that the Election Commission of Pakistan has announced to start the process of reviewing the electoral rolls across the country from November 7, under which door-to-door verification of voters will be done.
