RAJANPUR: Two girls were burnt to death in a fire in a passenger van in Punjab’s Rajanpur city, bringing the death toll to eight.
According to ARY News, a fire broke out in a passenger van near Shamsabad Toll Plaza in Rojhan Mazari, killing five people, including a woman and three children.
According to rescue sources, nine people were injured in the tragic accident and were rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.
The death toll rose to eight after the girls succumbed to their injuries while seven others were being treated at the hospital.
It may be recalled that Punjab Chief Minister Usman Bazdar termed the incident of fire in the van as unfortunate and ordered an inquiry.

It may be recalled that four persons were killed and more than ten others injured in a traffic accident in Sialkot district of Punjab province in January this year.
According to rescue sources, the accident took place near Rawla stop on Wazirabad Road, where a passenger van traveling from Sialkot to Rawalpindi was hit by a truck due to fog. As a result of the accident, four persons died on the spot while more than ten were injured. ۔
