Leith Malinga says goodbye to all forms of cricket

Colombo: Sri Lankan cricket team’s famous fast bowler Leith Malinga has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.

According to Kirk Info, 38-year-old Sri Lankan fast bowler Leith Malinga has given up all forms of cricket. Malinga had retired before Tests and ODIs and will no longer play T20 cricket.

The fast bowler played 30 Tests, 226 ODIs and 84 T20I matches for Sri Lanka.

The 38-year-old bowler represented Sri Lanka in 30 Tests and took 101 wickets at an average of 33.45, according to Kirk Info.

In ODI cricket, Malinga played 226 matches and bowled 338 wickets at an average of 28. His best bowling was against India in which he bowled six wickets for 38 runs.

Lasith Malinga, considered to be an expert in short form cricket, played 84 matches and took 107 wickets. Malinga has the distinction of being the first bowler in the world to complete a century of wickets in T20 cricket.
