Rawalpindi: National team wicketkeeper-batsman Muhammad Rizwan reminded the Kiwi team of the past.
“Pakistan had given full support to New Zealand after the Christchurch accident,” national team wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan wrote on the social networking site Twitter following the cancellation of the New Zealand cricket team’s tour.
“Pakistan supported New Zealand after the Christchurch incident but the Kiwi team canceled the historic visit to Pakistan citing security,” Rizwan wrote.
“This is a very sad process, especially when Pakistan’s security forces assured us that there was no threat in the series,” he wrote.
Everyone including Pakistan supported NZ after the tragic incident of Christchurch. And now a historic tour is unilaterally canceled by them because of a so-called threat. This abrupt move is disappointing especially when our brilliant security forces ensured zero-threat. Sad!

It should be noted that the New Zealand cricket team announced the abrupt end of its tour of Pakistan on the grounds of security concerns, after which the series between the two teams was postponed.
It may be recalled that after 18 years, the New Zealand team came to Pakistan to play the series and before the arrival of the team, the New Zealand security team had also expressed satisfaction over the arrangements.
Three ODIs between Pakistan and New Zealand were to be played in Rawalpindi and five T20 matches in Lahore.
Remember that before coming to Pakistan, the New Zealand team played a series in Bangladesh.
